Its time to re-examine instant citizenship (Anchor babies) which hasn't been illuminated enough, to growing concern of the American public. For decades now pregnant women have arrived on tourist’s visas, through the fence and even at ports of call. Very aware of our mis-interpreted law governing "birthright citizenship", that attributes full rights to the Mother of an illegal immigrant. How can Americans benefit from this Health care reform package, when we must subsidize millions of households and not just the original interloper? Outlined in the spring issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons is an article that will stun a prudent person. An illegal alien entered the states in 1997 to work as a fruit picker, bringing with him his wife and three children; all illegal aliens.

The lady gave birth to a fourth child, and with that birth the family had an "anchor baby"—an American citizen by birth, who provided the entire family with a free pass to remain in the United States permanently and collect government, subsides. Unfortunately the baby was born prematurely, spent three months in the neonatal incubator, and cost the San Joaquin Hospital more than $300,000. Meanwhile, the oldest daughter married an illegal alien and gave birth to her own anchor baby, and then Cristobal’s wife gave birth to yet another baby. ALL PAID FOR BY—YOU!

This is just one taxpayer example of the 'Rule of law' that has cost taxpayers billions of dollars. A nurse admitted last weekend, according to Review-Journal reported that cash-strapped UMC hospital in Nevada is providing more than $20 million a year in emergency dialysis care for uninsured, illegal immigrants. Is American society insane when poverty stricken Americans are turned away, go bankrupt and sometimes die? TAXPAYERS ARE TAXED FOR THIS, BUT NOT FOR OUR OWN PEOPLE? We must insist that a Birthright Citizenship lawsuit be filed with the federal court and its original intent revisited? That E-Verify should be fully funded and a highly skilled MIT team, building on the original Immigration enforcement database to a highest level of security that cannot be compromised by the use of fraudulent documents.

The PC oriented application must be installed permanently on every business computer across this country? ICE should have the manpower to audit every workplace, with the power to arrest and detain employers who snub immigration laws? Repeat offenders should be dealt with harshly, including prison and confiscation of business assets. There should be no mitigating excuses because illegal immigrants are—STEALING JOBS-- on any rung of the employment ladder? These employers for years have been an intended magnet for destitute labor in many cases, but have left the burden of paying for schooling for the children, health care and a veiled miscellaneous core of government handouts to US taxpayers. THIS IS NOT ABOUT RACISM, BUT AN ULTIMATE FINANCIAL MATTER OF SURVIVAL FOR US ALL!

Insist your politicians guarantee E-Verify is fully funded and is not scuttled by Sen. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Janet Napolitano or any other high ranking Democrats. The Washington switchboard has their number at 202-224-3121. Research these laws, true facts and incredulous stats at NUMBERSUSA & JUDICIAL WATCH

Please explain where, in either bill, it says that illegal immigrants will be given free health care? Name one place. And the argument that "they aren't excluded, therefore it must be allowed" is a little simple-minded, don't you think?

As to the ER's down by the border - well, that's a different problem. That's immigration reform.

Here's an easy fix for you. One that the government, for some reason, isn't willin to consider. Currently, we're rounding up the illegal aliens one at a time and deporting them, but there's always another alien around the corner waiting for the job.

Instead, fine each employer who hire's an illegal immigrant a substantial amount, per illegal employee, so that it doesn't make economic sense to hire them - say $100K each. Once the jobs dry up, the flow will slow to a manageable trickle.

After all, at the moment, paying one minimum wage employee for a $40 hour week costs $17K a year. Or they can hire an illegal immigrant to pick their lettuce for $20/day, getting a 10-12 hour day out of them.

I mean, sure, the price of your produce goes up significantly. But problem solved.

If you hit the source of the jobs, instead of the individual looking for a job, it makes a lot more sense. But the government, particularly the business-friendly Bush White House, hasn't been willing to do that.

But that's still a compltely different problem from healthcare reform, isn't it?

Yes, let's be clear. The Health Care reform debate is not over emergency room services for illegals. Anyone injured or suffering an "emergency" should be assisted, is the Christian thing to do. The debate on this point is, do illegal aliens deserve to participate in a national program for citizens payed for by citizens. Answer, no. In Mexico for example, it is a felony to be there illegally. They will arrest you and they're not afraid to use profiling to weed out their illegals. One major fix to the health care reform should naturally include tighter control of the border. Many hospitals in border states are being crushed by giving free "health care" to illegals in emergency rooms, a place that should be reserved for emergencies. Illegals being included in the Bill is just another attempt at "redistribution". That's why democrats blocked any language that would insure illegals were not covered. Clear enough?

Let’s be clear on this. Illegal immigrants are already covered when they go into an emergency room. They have to be – it’s a basic fact: emergency rooms cannot turn away anyone. This has already been decided by the courts. So your argument is more than a little ridiculous.

Face it: the healthcare reform bill doesn’t guarantee care to illegal aliens. But it’s not going to deny anyone emergency care. That’s the way it is now, that’s the way it’s going to be in the future, whether we have healthcare reform or not.

Chris, I believe we are in agreement. I can see now Scotland was between a rock and a hard place but like you said, the law had to be followed. I was on the road playing a gig when the news of the release was made. I was angry for two days before I wrote my piece and I thought the Scots didn't care and "wanted" to release him. You are a patriot for your nation and were quick to defend Her. You helped me to see that once again our leaders fell short, not the average person. I will say to you, I jumped too fast and too far. I retract my call for a boycott on Scotland. If it were not for our conversation, my position would have remained as it began. I will leave my original post on my site in hopes your fellow countrymen and mine will read our dialog and understand that we the people are in sync even if our respective leaders and laws aren't. RichardKP
